Botanic Name: Levisticum officinale

Description: Flavor and apperance are similar to that of celery, albeit a little stronger. Makes a wonderul lovage and potato soup.

Uses: Use young leaves salads or cook as one would spinach. Dried leaves and seed can be used like celery salt.

Harvesting: Harvest leaves reguallry to maintain a  supply of fresh tender young foliage.

Best Results: Harvest leaves before flowering. Seeds should be harvested when brown.

Companion Planting: Lovage is a good companion plant for  many root crops, including potatoes.
